Hull Port

The port of Hull is on the North bank of the River Humber which is just 20 miles from the North Sea. It handles over 10 million tonnes each year and covers a total area of 3,000 acres. There are daily crossing on P&O Ferries to both Rotterdam and Zeebrugge, which leave Hull at 9.00 pm and 6.30 pm respectively. This is ideal for the baled material that is exported by the articulated lorry load.

For larger loads that are exported on boats, the port has extensive storage areas and state-of-the-art handling equipment for loading. Shipments of up to 5,000 tonnes can be accommodated

Solid recovered fuel

This product is mainly used in the production of cement to heat the cement kilns, an alternative to fossil fuels. It is made up light waste such as paper, cardboard and light plastics that have been blown from the main plant by wind shifters. We shred this product down to 30mm or below. It can also be made to a set specification to suit the cement industry. This material us baled, wrapped and can be exported by the ship load or on single articulated lorry loads.

Refuse derived fuel

This is primarily created from household waste. Initially, the waste is screened to remove all organic material that is 30mm or less. The rest of the waste is shredded to a maximum of size of 400m. It is then baled, wrapped and as with Solid Recovered Fuel can either be exported by the ship load or on single articulated lorry loads.


All of our wood waste, which has mainly come from construction and demolition sites is fed through shredders and then screened. This process is carried out so that wood can be made to specific sizes, in order to meet varying customer requirements. Sizes range from 100mm-75mm and 75mm-40mm. The main specification for Biomass Plants is 100mm-10mm with anything less than 10mm used for animal bedding.
